“It’s hard to explain to naïve data – driven people that risk is in the future, not in the past.” Nassim Nicholas Taleb – Antifragile
When we stepped into our latest location (pic 1), we had a feeling excitement about having a blank canvas so to speak about what we could do with the location. Photo 2 is what we managed to come up with.
2020 is coming to an end and obviously it has been a very hard, trying year for so many. Thinking of 2021, it would be great to see people consider it a blank canvas when it comes to health.
For us this is the best thing anyone can do. While the whole world has come through a very challenging time collectively, there is nothing surer that we will all have challenges/risks ahead on a personal level at some stage.
A fit, healthy body and mindset is the best thing you can give yourself to help cope with these challenges. Then you can push forward to paint your own canvas with a sense of excitement.
Here are some tips for a great year of fitness ahead:
- Create your Health Vision: Spending some time to create a vision of how a health and fitness regime can benefit you is one of the best things you can do for yourself. Use prompts like how being fit, healthy, confident and energetic can help you in areas like your relationships, work, family and social lives. Doing this might sound a bit too new age guru for most people, but most people quit their health regime when some curveballs are thrown their way.
2. Get your plan together: Where you are going to train, how and who with are good places to start. Make sure that the location is one you’ll be able to get to regularly (remember online is an option also!). Would you like to have someone to train with, whether a training partner or coach to keep you motivated? What time would you plan to train and how often each week? Having these things planned out and ticking off your sessions each week is very motivating.
3. Keep it Basic: Make it easier for yourself to succeed. Don’t opt for a crazy eating and workout regime. Clear out any trigger foods from your kitchen. Start putting systems in place where it’s easy for you to get your gear and go to the gym or you go on your way home from work. The more Maintainable and Doable your regime is, the more likely you will be to stick with it long – term.
4. Enjoy the Process: When putting your fitness regime together, make sure you plan on enjoying the process. There are enough things to stress about, creating a load of hassle when it comes to your workouts and doing them will not help your motivation, results or ability to stick with it long term!Find a place you enjoy training in, work hard, celebrate your wins and build on them…
And if you’re looking for a place to progress your fitness, while enjoying the process, get in touch and we will go through the programs we have in place to make 2021 your fittest year yet!
