On Monday I got a text from a TFS member who returned to train in after a short break.

It basically said:

“I need to keep remembering that training will help, not hinder the rest of my busy life.”

Got me to thinking.

If you were looking to get into the OPPOSITE of absolutely the best shape of your life, how would you go about it?

Not working out would be a solid start.

The likes of Coke being your primary hydration source and making sure you get plenty of alcohol on board every weekend is another option.

You’d definitely eat plenty of processed foods and would avoid vegetables like the plague.

Good quality sleep is something you could put to one side.

You might like the fact that getting steps in would have to disappear, along with fresh air.

There’s plenty more options you could choose from.

However.

If you were to “flip the script” and look at some of the best ways to get into shape?

Do the opposite of the above.

Even starting with what feels manageable for yourself for a month.

Then build from there.

It could literally be something as simple as adding a couple of thousand steps to your day.

Creating a win and then going for the next one.

Do this and you’ll build a level of momentum between now and the end of the year that’ll surprise you!
