How Often Should I Train?
The above is a question we are regularly asked at The Fitness Society.
And the answer is “it depends”.
On everything from your training history to your work/life circumstances to your stress levels.
A more effective question might be along the lines of:
“How many times a week can I train consistently without things falling apart after a month?”
For us we find that 3 sessions a week seems to be the sweet spot for a lot of our members.
Which when added to solid nutrition and general movement throughout the week can get you some great results.
Just think if you’re not training at the moment and you start doing 2 full body strength sessions and one conditioning focused workout into your routine every week, then your body will have no choice but to adapt to the new challenges being put to it.
Only have time for two sessions a week? Get two good full body strength sessions in with some conditioning at the end of them. And make sure you’re really dialling in your steps throughout the week.
Point being, whether you’re plenty or very little time to workout, you can still make progress.
If you’re not training or find yourself stopping and starting, your job is to make the decision to get yourself going properly.
Then figure out how you’re going to go about it and bring the right intensity to your regime.
Do that and you’ll be jumping with excitement about the results you get before too long…
