I heard something really interesting on a podcast by Andrew Huberman yesterday.

In summary mice like running and it has positive benefit for them when it comes to things like their blood pressure.

However.

It was found that if you force a mouse to run, it resents having to do it so much that the benefits are actually negated.

So what’s this got to do with you?

There are a lot of people in gyms and getting going in their fitness regimes who will unfortunately be finished up in a couple of weeks.

Because they are feeling forced into it.

Running on treadmills and working on their diet for no better reason than “it’s January” and they have looked at a few motivational quotes on Instagram.

A much better way to do things would be figuring out what you want to get into the best shape possible for.  By asking questions like:

What is really important in life to you?

Who do you want to feel really strong and consistently show up as your best for?

Why do you need improved energy?

What would increased confidence mean in your life?

I can keep going but I’m sure you get the picture. The more you dig into the positives that better health and fitness can bring to your life, the more you’ll want to take the necessary steps to get it.

Once you’ve figured the above out, it’s a case of finding a place you’ll enjoy working out in and help you get the results you want. Don’t be afraid to try a few places, but don’t wait around to take the necessary action to look into them.

Things to consider when finding your place to train include ease of access (is it reasonably close to where you live/work?), do you think you’ll feel comfortable working out in it and do you feel listened to by the coaches when it comes to what you want to achieve?

Get your reasons for working out and find your place to train and you’ll not only want to properly get on the fitness treadmill for 2022 and beyond.

You’ll enjoy the process and love the results as well…
